Carlow Senior Hurling Manager Colm Bonnar thinks that this years Joe McDonagh Cup winners should be included in next years Leinster Championship to make it a 6-team competition.
Speaking to KCLR after last Saturday night’s defeat to Wexford, Colm says if it were to happen, it would greatly benefit the team who has been promoted.
“At least the team that is coming up, they know they have four huge games that they are going to try and close that gap, but they also have an eye on Carlow saying well look we are not too far away from them and if we can get up there, and get maybe one or two good games off the bigger (teams) perform well and maybe turn Carlow over so in that sense, it gives the team that is coming up from the Joe McDonagh a chance to say well look, we will have a chance to learn, to stay-up and I think they should make it into a six county Leinster Championship”.
