Carlow Rugby Club 2nd row Wes Shirley says they have to make sure they make up for their defeats on the return fixtures.

Speaking to KCLR ahead of their away clash with Longford on Sunday, Wes says the defeats will make them more determined to gain revenge…..

“Yeah, lost two on the road. One to Cill Dara and one to Railway”

“Definitely in Cill Dara we felt we should have won the game, but just a few decisions went their way and we were unlucky and what not and Railway always a tough place to go so it is and we came away with a losing bonus point again probably we felt we should have got more out of the game but sure it is what is, and we just have to make sure on the return fixtures, we make up for what we left behind us”

Meanwhile Wes says that Longford and Cill Dara are the two teams to beat in Division 2A of the Leinster League….

“The two of them they played each other last week now. Only that Cill Dara lost, they were unbeaten as well so they are definitely the two teams to beat at the minute, so they are”

“Like we have nothing really to lose in one way like going up there. The onus is on them to get the win because they are top to stay top but we want to look after our own job first and hopefully come away with a win on the road which would be great for us”
