Carlow man Jack Kehoe named on Irish U18 basketball team for European Championships

IT Carlow & Old Leighlin's Jack Kehoe

IT Carlow (now SETU) & Old Leighlin’s Jack Kehoe has been named on the Irish team for the U18 Men’s European Championships.

He’s part of a group of 12 players taking part in the competition in Romania between July 29th and August 7th.

The squad has been finalised following an impressive 3-0 AWM Contracts Series win over Luxembourg. The roster is made up of nine players registered domestically and three based overseas. The growing geographical reach of basketball in Ireland is also reflected, with six counties – Kerry, Dublin, Carlow, Antrim, Louth, and Limerick all having representation. 

Ireland is in Group A of the FIBA Men’s U18 European Championships alongside Estonia, Iceland Ukraine, and Denmark.

The open up their campaign on Friday, July 29th against Estonia at 15:45.

Ireland vs Iceland, Saturday, July 31st, 13:30, Blejoi. 

Ireland vs Ukraine, Tuesday, August 2nd, 15:45, Ploiesti.

Ireland vs Denmark, Wednesday, August 3rd, 18:00, Bucov.
