Newport County striker Padraic Amond says it’s important to savour moments like yesterday’s shock FA Cup victory over Leicester City of the Premier League.

His side Newport County dumped Leicester out of the competition last night with a 2-1 win thanks to a penalty from the local man.

He’s hoping for Manchester United away in the next round of the FA Cup when the draw is done this evening.

Speaking to KCLR, Padraic says the victory meant so much especially having gone so close to causing a cup shock last year.

“Last year, we were very close to been like the underdog story again”

“We were only a few minutes away from beating Spurs and obviously to beat Leicester this year who were Premier League Champions two years ago is an amazing achievement from all of the lads, and everybody on the pitch done unbelievable yesterday”

“There was blocks been put in, lads throwing their bodies on the line just to make sure that we did get through to the next round and the relief when the referee blew the final whistle yesterday was there to be seen on everybody’s faces and also the excitement as well because those supporters and for ourselves as players, stuff like that doesn’t happen all the time so when it does you have to really enjoy it”
