Carlow were knocked out of the Leinster Senior football Championship yesterday after losing 3-14 to 20 points against Offaly in O’Connor Park in Tullamore on Sunday.
Niall Carew’s side late rally was not enough as they exited this year’s championship in a game played in tough conditions.
Speaking after the game the new Carlow manager said there were positives to take from the loss:
“Offaly are a very experienced side, they’re down the road probably further than we are so we knew that coming in” he said.
He added “To score twenty points was a big plus, defensively I thought we were fine, it was our mistakes coming out with the ball that probably cost us more so but very positive overall”.
