Carlow Senior Football Manager Turlough O’Brien says their is a lot of confusion about the advance mark.

The advance mark was one of a number of rules introduced for the National League campaign, and speaking to KCLR after Saturday night’s victory over Wicklow, Turlough says that even referees are finding difficulty in adjusting to the rule.

He said “Sometimes, players don’t signal it and the referee gives the mark so things like that are happening”.

“Players are maybe taking too long over the mark or I have seen referees last week three times I think it was the O’Byrne Cup Final throw up the ball after five seconds when it should be fifteen seconds so there is a lot confusion still about it so”.
