Carlow Muaythai Gym’s Chloe Black is one fight away from a world title.
The IFMA Junior World Championships are currently underway in Bangkok, Thailand.
Aged 12, Black was selected for the Irish junior team in early 2018 that competed in Lithuania and claimed 2 gold medals. Expanding into boxing, Chloe claimed a Leinster and All-Ireland title earlier this summer.
Black took a narrow 29-28 points victory over Thailand’s Borrimas Kaenchan to book her place in the final. Black faces USA’s Lei Saludares in her final on Tuesday. Ireland’s Zoey Croke also faces US opposition next in Maile Eugenio-Caras, while Kinga Pietraszak takes on Thailand’s Kamollak Phumtae.
