Carlow Rowing Club PRO Elaine Grant says the annual Regatta draws phenomenal interest from around the Country.
Speaking to KCLR ahead of this weekends event, Elaine says the Regatta is perfect preparation for events that take place later in the Summer.
“Well I think everybody looks forward to it in the Calendar every year, the June Bank Holiday weekend.
“It’s been set in the Calendar for such a long time now.
“The interest around the country is phenomenal, people love coming to it, it’s a source of preparation for some of the European events that take place as well, people come to train nearly at it, the youngsters are in preparation then for the Cork Regatta that’s in June.
Then we have the Championships that are held down in Farrenwood in Cork in July, the event is so well organized from the committee’s perspective, there is some of them at it a very long time that everyone knows that the experience is worth coming to in Carlow every year,” she said
