Carlows Senior Hurlers get their 2016 Allianz National Hurling League campaign underway this Sunday when they travel to Newbridge to face their neighbours Kildare in the opening round.

Carlow finished up in 3rd on the table last year just missing out on a play off spot in what was a hotly contested Division 2A.

Kildare are new to this Division having being promoted after beating Meath in the 2B final.

Carlow won their first three games of last years league beating Wicklow, London and Derry however lost by a single point to Kerry at home and then to Westmeath a week later.

Carlows National Hurling League launch took place recently and we went along and spoke to goalkeeper Brian Treacy.
