Carlow based trainer Pat Fahy will bid to win the grade two red mills chase at Gowran Park on Saturday with Castlegrace Paddy.

His rivals could include the likes of Anibale Fly, Alpha des Obeaux, Any Second Now and Samcro.

Fahy won the red mills chase with Nuaffe back in 1997 and he would love to win this race again on such a special day.

“I think the red mills chase has got more prestigious since, I’d like to win it with Castlegeace Paddy, locally bred” said Pat.

“I bought the dam off of Joe Foley, there’s a lot of history there and the owners only live over in Castlegrace there, it’s only about another 15 minutes away (from his stables)”

It’s a busy day of action at the local track with seven races down for decision across the day.

It will be a lot different this year too as the event has to take place behind closed doors.
