Carlow Senior Hurling Manager Colm Bonnar says they want the challenge of playing the top teams despite the difficult experiences they have had so far in the National League.
Carlow play Laois tomorrow night in O’Moore Park, Portlaoise, Colm says the enthusiasm is definitely there within the squad despite being depleted.
He says “If you stand back and look at it, a lot of the players want that challenge, they want to see where they are because they watch these teams on telly and they watch these teams, only recently we watched Clare win an All-Ireland Final, Kilkenny win an All-Ireland Final and now we have our players stepping up beside them so they actually want these challenges”.
“They want to say that I have played against the best and it’s all about their preparation and bringing their game to another level and look it’s not easy, it does take time, and we are working with a very depleted squad at the moment and it doesn’t make it easy, we need to have our best squad available to us to make vital changes, and make impacts when players come in and out so”.
