County Carlow Rugby Football Club has been awarded Leinster Junior Club of the Year title for the 2015-16 season by Leinster Rugby.
This award is presented annually on the basis of a Club’s contribution to promoting rugby in the community and in the province.
The criteria for the award include the level of club facilities, the Club’s record in hosting matches including the recent Town’s Cup semi final, the number of referees provided by the club, the range of teams in the club including minis, youths, women’s, as well as adult men’s sides.
The award also takes into account the contribution of Carlow members to Leinster Rugby.
Carlow last won this title back in 1993.
Club President Pat Slater will be presented with the special plaque to mark this accolade at a Leinster function next month.
