A long season of Gaelic games action in Carlow is almost at a close with the next few weeks given over to the running of the Under 20 football championship.
Games get underway tonight in Carlow with two matchups in the ‘A’ championship where Michael Davitts host Bagenalstown Gaels in Group 1 while in Group 2 we’ll see St. Patrick’s welcome Rathvilly to Brother Leo Park, both of those games throwing in at 8pm.
The remaining games from the opening round of the championship are spread across Saturday and Sunday. Saturday sees the other two ‘A’fixtures where in Group 1 it’s Éire Óg v Palatine and in Group 2, Mount Leinster Rangers are away to Clonmore/Grange, both games throwing in at 6pm.
Then on Sunday, it’s the turn of the ‘B’ championship with Group 1 seeing Naomh Eoin take on O’Hanrahans while Fighting Cocks/Kilbride meet Fenagh, both at 6pm.
Lastly, in Group 2 it’s the turn of Ballon v Tinryland at 4.30pm with Asca taking on Kildavin/Clonegal from 6.
