Carlow Midfielder Brendan Murphy says the hard work from all the squad is making training and matches a lot more enjoyable and worthwhile.

Speaking to KCLR after been named the Top Class Travel Man of the Match in Saturday’s victory over Leitrim, Brendan says if they can keep up the work rate, they can get promoted……

“Yeah, it’s very enjoyable. A lot of lads here. John Murphy there the Captain, Sean Gannon, Kieran Nolan soldiered for years when we hadn’t been getting any wins but look it’s enjoyable, but it’s enjoyable because we are all working hard and just because we got a few wins early on doesn’t matter a thing, we just have to keep driving on now”

“I think we probably went around for years losing games and feeling sorry for ourselves so in fairness to the new management team, when they came in three years ago and Stephen Poacher, it gave us a bit of a lift”

“Last year, obviously gave us a bit of a boost as well. Look, yeah, we want to improve, we want to kind of drive on the next generation there coming up. We have three from three, haven’t won anything yet”

“Our main aim is to get out of Division 4 so hopefully if we keep going along, keep working hard then god only knows”
