Following Carlow’s defeat to Westmeath in the Kehoe Cup final at the weekend, the attention for Carlow’s senior hurlers now turns to the start of the league.
They’ll make the long trip to Ballycran on Sunday to face Down in a fixture that didn’t work out too well last season.
Manager Tom Mullally has been telling Scoreline it will take a big effort to get the right result this Sunday.
“We’ll find out next weekend exactly what Down are bringing, we haven’t seen a lot of Down so we don’t really know, our exposure to that this year hasn’t happened so far so we’ll find out once we go up,” said Tom.
“Last year we went up and we started quite well but we came out of there without anything, we’ll see how this year goes”.
“That’s going to take a mighty effort from us to try and get something out of it you know” he added.
