Carlow’s Molly Scott does the double at the Elite Athlete Indoor Micro Meet at the National Indoor Arena

The Hacketstown sprinter also hit the European Indoor standard in her first win of the day

Carlow’s Molly Scott took first place in both of her women’s 60m sprints at the Elite Athlete Indoor Micro Meet at the National Indoor Arena on Sunday.

In her first race she got the European Indoor Standard in 7.36.

She was followed in second place by Joan Healy (Leevale A.C.) in 7.42 and Kate Doherty (Dundrum South Dublin A.C.) was third.

In the second race Molly once again took first place ahead of Joan Healy (7.42 and Kate Doherty (7.52).

Meanwhile Carlow’s Marcus Lawler came second in the 200m Sprint on Saturday.

Leon Reid (Menapians A.C.) stormed to a 20.96 ahead of Marcus who ran it in 21.23, and Mark Smyth (Raheny Shamrock A.C.) in 21.41.

On Sunday, Marcus contested the Men’s 60m and Leon Reid (Menapians A.C.) built on his impressive 200m performance on Saturday to come home first in a time of 6.72.

The Carlow man managed fifth in a time of 6.92.

The second race saw Reid and Olatunde go even faster with Reid clocking a new PB of 6.68 which sees him go second on the Irish all-time list.

Marcus was fourth in 6.89.
