Carrickshock 3-13
Conahy Shamrocks 1-18
Goals proved crucial for Carrickshock on Saturday afternoon as they defeated Conahy Shamrocks by a single point in the Michael Lyng Motors Hyundai Kilkenny Intermediate Hurling League.
Jamie Power and James Bergin exchanged goals in the first half and it was a case of point taking from both sides up to half-time as Conahy’s superior fluidity in attack gave them a 1-12 to 1-06 lead at the interval.
It seemed as though the northern club would cruise to victory as they led by six points going into additional time but quickfire goals from Darragh Brennan and Shane Power gave Carrickshock an unlikely victory.
Carrickshock lie on 4 points after their opening three games, while Conahy will wonder how they only have two points to their name after three games.
