Castleblayney Senior Hurling Manager Jimmy Lacey is quietly confident they can upset the odds and defeat Dunammaggin in Sunday’s All-Ireland Junior Club Hurling Final.
Speaking to KCLR, Jimmy says they perform better when they are underdogs.
He says “We have a massive amount of respect for Dunammaggin and for Kilkenny hurling as well of course, but sure you wouldn’t be doing ourselves justice if you went into it thinking in that way”.
“You have to go in with confidence, we have played a good few games in our Championship so far in the Ulster Championship where we were the underdogs, we have come out the right side of those so I think our team probably performs better when they are the underdogs so we are under no illusions as to the challenge we face on Sunday”.
Jimmy said “We are playing a team with massive experience and some players who have seen and done it all, but we do feel if we are on top of our game, we hope to have maybe enough to get on the right side of it”.
