Castlewarren Celtic have one foot in the Kilkenny’s Division 2 Ken & Michael Byrne Cup final.
The city side needed penalties to see off Freshford on Sunday, guaranteeing a place in this year’s cup final and somewhat making up for last week’s disappointment in their KCLR McCalmont Cup semi-final defeat to Thomastown A.
1-1 at full time, the game went straight to penalties with Castlewarren running out 4-2 winners.
They’ll find out their opposition this Friday night with St. Canice’s and Thomastown B set to meet at United Park.
Kick-off in that game is set for 7pm.
