Their first game on Saturday morning was Newmarket from Clare who defeated the Boro girls on a scoreline of 1-1 to 0-6pts. Their second game was against Turloughmore who defeated the Boro girls on a scoreline of 1-5 to 1-3, Turloughmore would eventually go on to win the Divison 1 Féile title. The final group game was against Newcastle West which saw the Boro again defeated by a two-point margin.

The group results meant that the Boro team would contest the shield semi-final, their opponent was Lucan Sarsfields of Dublin. This was a very tight and tense affair, the Boro came out on top thanks to a late surge from Sophie O’Riordain scoring 1-2 to advance to the shield final.

The final was played in the Connacht COE in Ballina, the Kilkenny champs were pairs with Newcastle West, who had beaten them previously in the group stages. Dicksboro goalie Kate Meighan was on fire keeping her team well in the game with a string of fabulous saves. A goal by Sophie O’Riordain helped the Boro to a first-ever Division 1 Shield title.
