Tullow Rugby Club Head Coach Maurice Logue says that Tullow native and Ireland Under-20 International Charlie Ward is more flexible from coming off the bench.
The Ireland Under-20s are on course for consecutive Grand Slams after a resounding victory in England made it three wins from their three matches, and speaking to KCLR, Maurice says that Charlie’s versatility gives the Irish Team a greater option during matches.
“I think the one thing that is holding Charlie back a little bit at the moment from starting maybe and I am not obviously privy to some of the goings on in the Irish Under-20 is that he can play loose head and tight head so it’s better to have him on the bench so he can cover both sides and gives the more flexibility, look he’s a huge future ahead of him, injuries depending and he has got a great attitude”
