This weekend, all eyes will be on Dicksboro as they face O’Loughlin Gaels in the highly anticipated Kilkenny Senior Championship Quarter-Final on Sunday at 3:30 PM. Dicksboro’s manager, Michael Walsh, has highlighted the key role of Cillian Buckley as the team prepares for the crucial match.

Speaking to KCLR, Walsh emphasized Buckley’s leadership this season:
“He didn’t get much game time with Kilkenny this year and, in other years, he might have come back a little bit tired or suffered with injury. But this year, he’s come back refreshed and he’s leading the whole thing. That’s what you expect from him, and I wouldn’t expect any less. He knows his job, and he’s certainly doing it, driving the team forward.”

Walsh also pointed out the importance of the team’s collective effort:
“He’s getting great support from others as well. We’ve got some really good lads. As I said to the lads, it’s player-driven, and they’ll either drive it or they won’t.”

Before this marquee match, the Kilkenny Senior Championship Quarter-Finals will also feature other exciting games. On Saturday, Ballyhale Shamrocks face Thomastown at 1:30 PM, followed by Tullaroan vs Bennetsbridge at 4:30 PM. The action continues on Sunday at 1:30 PM with Mullinavat vs Erins Own before the big city showdown between Dicksboro and O’Loughlin Gaels.

Be sure to tune in live on KCLR to follow all the action as it unfolds!
