Clare Senior Camogie Manager Ger O’Connell says that taking a break has helped them come back refreshed and looking forward to the season ahead.

Speaking ahead of Sunday’s National League opener against Kilkenny in John Locke Park, Callan, Ger says it’s most important to enjoy the game.

“It’s not easy, It’s a tough call to make whether you ask girls to train during the Christmas or look they deserve their break as well it’s a long year so it’s finding that balance which every team will treat differently” says Ger.

The Clare manager says “it’s important that the girls enjoy their days off and come back training fresh, for me it’s about enjoying the game and your not going to be enjoying it if your training on Christmas Eve or Stephens Day”.

He says “Lets bring back the enjoyment and let them go and express themselves”.
