Saturday proved a day of double joy for Carlow’s Cliodhna Ni Shé.
Hours after spurring Bennekerry-Tinryland to the senior ladies football title against Old Leighlin – ending a run of three final defeats in the process – Ní Shé made the trip to the TG4 LGFA All-Star Awards where she was named the TG4 Junior Players’ Player of the Year.
Cliodhna was top scorer in the 2021 All-Ireland championships with an incredible 9-19 to her account by the time Carlow bowed out.
Later on Saturday evening, the overall 2021 TG4 All-Star team was announced with All-Ireland champions Meath leading the way with eight from fifteen spots.
