Goals win matches and four went a long way in Clonmore’s win over Fenagh in the opening game of the 2016 Talbot Hotel intermediate football championship.
Clonmore led by 1-4 to 0-2 at half time and Fenagh were not helped when they were reduced to fourteen men as the red and green men took control scoring 3-8 in the second period.
Final Score – Clonmore 4-12, Fenagh 0-5
The Michael Lyng Motors senior football championship kicks off this evening with Kildavin-Clonegal taking on Eire Og at Netwatch Cullen Park at 7-30.
Kildavin-Clonegal will be hoping to start out on the road to bridge a fourty three year gap 1973 the last time they won the championship.
Ballinabranna and Grange meet in the Talbot Hotel Intermediate Football championship at McGrath Park at 7-30. Grange will be hoping to kick on after winning the junior last season.
St. Mullins and Naomh Eoin meet in the minor hurling championship in St. Mullins at 7-15.
