Ballyhale Shamrocks Senior Hurler Colin Fennelly says it’s massive that manager Henry Shefflin has full confidence and trust in the squad of players.
Speaking to KCLR ahead of this evening’s (Saturday’s) All-Ireland Senior Club Semi-Final clash against Ballygunner of Waterford, Colin says that Henry is an excellent man-manager especially with the younger contingent.
Colin said “He based our game a lot on freshness, he likes to keep lads fresh, he knows how much training probably with the county lads are doing and stuff and how much they have done and just the pressures on and he just said, lads if you want to leave off a training session, leave it off, get your head right”.
“He knows we are fit, he knows that we do our own bit in the ball alley and stuff as well, and it’s just a massive thing that your manager has confidence in you to know that you are doing your own bit and even with the young lads, you can see them talking to him, you can see him going around just talking to him which is just huge and we played with him for years, and I suppose for the young lads to see Henry come in as manager and to see him get to talk to the man is just massive”.
