Carlow Senior Hurling Manager Colm Bonnar says they need to improve their scoring rate greatly if they are to remain among Hurling’s Division 1 elite.
Speaking to KCLR after Saturday evening’s 11 point defeat at home to Dublin, Colm says they didn’t have the strength in depth to threaten the Dubs.
He said “We defended as well as we could, we were under savage pressure for most of that second half, Dublin changed their game plan around, they ran at us from very deep and created overlaps and our backs were heroic in terms of their defending”.
“Just looking at it I suppose overall, 0-9, we do need to carry out more of a scoring threat, but we have a lot of serious players that haven’t been available to us for this league, and even on the bench we weren’t able to bring them on”.
