With their last sixteen tie against Toulon scrapped hours before Friday’s kick-off, Leinster Rugby will face Exeter Chiefs in the quarter-final of this year’s Champions Cup.
With games coming thick and fast, the Blues travel to Exeter’s Sandy Park this Saturday for a 5.30 pm kick-off.
Friday’s fixture against Toulon was abandoned due to a positive Covid-19 test in the French camp, despite Toulon having already travelled to Dublin without the player in question.
On review, it was deemed a number of the travelling squad could be considered high-risk close contacts, leaving Toulon without a team to field for Friday’s game. Under the EPCR’s Covid-19 rules, that meant the French side having to forfeit the fixture.
