The countdown is on to one of the biggest race meets of the year in Gowran Park, Goffs Thyestes Day.
There’ll be no crowds this year with Covid-19 restrictions in place however there is plenty of racing and action to look forward to.
Brian Kavanagh the CEO of Horse Racing Ireland told scoreline.ie that credit has to go to racing staff all over the country for working hard to keep the show on the road.
“I think that people have really bought into it, they realise that their livelihoods are at stake, and I think the trainers and jockeys are used to rules and regulations as a sport and as an industry we are used to health and safety and bio security so it was a good fit in that respect” said Brian.
“I think people realise what’s going on in the wider world and we’ve a duty to do it properly and thankfully that seems to be the case” he added.
