There was double delight for Danny Mullins on the opening day of the four-day Tramore Festival yesterday evening as he rode two winners for local trainers Richard Donohue & his Dad Tony Mullins.

Vischio, who was twice a winner on the flat in Gowran Park earlier in the year, returned at odds of 10/3 to run out a highly impressive seven-length winner of the featured event of the evening, The Smart Move Properties Handicap Hurdle.

The double was complete half an hour later when Danny & Tony combined as Rotten Row caused a shock at 25/1, as the outsider of six, upsetting the odds to land The O’Neills Bar Rated Novice Hurdle.

Meanwhile, Gowran Park staged an 8 race card on Wednesday Evening & Graiguenamanagh Jockey Shane Foley continued his whirlwind run with another big race success, hot on the heels of having won the Irish Oaks aboard Magical Lagoon, & also being the leading Jockey at the recent Galway Festival.

Partnering the Jessica Harrington Trained Paris Peacock in The featured Hurry Harriet Stakes, Shane displayed great determination to get Paris Peacock up in front at the finishing line to just hold off the challenge of the Joseph O’Brien trained Didn’thavemuchtodo with long-time leader Show of Stars back in Third.

Paris Peacock was breaking her Maiden tag having been placed in 6 of her 7 starts & finishing runner-up on 5 occasions.

There are seven jump races at Tramore, the first off at 4.50.
