The quarter-finals of the Kilkenny senior hurling championship are heading to UPMC Nowlan Park this weekend.
After a whirlwind weekend of championship hurling and the finals of the senior, intermediate and junior leagues, the attention now turns to the knockout stages. Kilkenny’s county grounds will be hosting all four quarter-final fixtures in the senior championship with a double-header planned for each of Saturday and Sunday.
On Saturday, it’s the newly-minted senior league champions Tullaroan first out of the gate as they meet Erin’s Own of Castlecomer at 2.30pm. That’s followed at 4.15pm by the meeting of Bennettsbridge and James Stephens, the Village having come through their relegation-semi final at the weekend relatively unscathed.
On Sunday we’ll see Dicksboro and Mullinavat go head-to-head, the latter having sent O’Loughlin Gaels packing in an end-to-end first-round clash this past weekend, that one throwing in at 2pm. At 3.45pm, defending county champions Ballyhale Shamrocks will take on shield-winners Clara who already have one victory over Shamrocks this season.
All games are ‘winner on the day’ with extra time played if necessary.
You’ll be able to catch all games live on KCLR and Scoreline.ie this weekend.
