Wexford Senior Hurling Manager Davy Fitzgerald says the Sweeper system is good for hurling which has worked perfectly.
Speaking after Sunday’s Leinster Final victory over Kilkenny, Davy doesn’t care anymore what people think about it.
He told KCLR “The sweeper system I am telling you 100%, 100% I am certain isn’t a negative system, it just needs to be shown the way it operates which is very important, it is good for hurling not bad, I am a hurling person, look at the short, look at the long, look at the cross-field, look at the catches, you tell me that every element of hurling isn’t in our game, it’s there, I promise you it is there”.
He added “I don’t really care anymore what people think about it, but it isn’t bad to watch, I have heard so many good reports about ourselves and Kilkenny below in Wexford Park, it’s unreal, I am delighted that they have stuck with it”.
