Carlow got life in Division 2 of the National League underway at the weekend in their opening game.
They came up short against Laois though at home on a scoreline of 0-9 to 0-7.
The Minors were in action against Armagh and lost out too in that game 2-10 to 1-2.
Carlow had a fantastic season last year lifting the League, Leinster and All Ireland titles.
Kate Nolan was also named the inaugural Junior Player of the Year at the 2015 Camogie All-Star awards.
Carlows Camogie Secretary Linda Kenny believes the days of Carlow getting a hammering are well behind them.
She says that the girls deserve all the credit they can get…..
“Laois are a team that would have beaten Carlow not too long ago by 20 or 30 points, those days thankfully are behind this Carlow Camogie team.
I’d just appeal to everyone to get out there and support them, they’re pure and utter sports people and athletes, you know the speed, the intensity of the game.
You know we lived with Laois (in the game) and just a few unfortunate little small things went wrong in the last five minutes but that’s all going to be experience, and hopefully the next day those things wont happen”
