Former Wexford Senior Hurler Tom Dempsey says their are a lot of flaws to the Championship structure for 2018.
Speaking to KCLR, Tom says that not enough thought has been put into the changes especially the Leinster Championship.
“The Leinster Championship is very very competitive this year, but there is going to be a few very very important games and you could have a situation, where Wexford are playing Offaly in the last game of the Championship this year in the Round Robin part to stay in it .
“So say if Kilkenny, Dublin and Galway beat Wexford which could happen, I am very very hopeful it won’t and I am very hopeful Wexford will qualify, but the D-day game will be Dublin and Wexford possibly in that group but if Wexford lost that, they could be going up to Tullamore in a last round-robin game with morale very low to stay in the All-Ireland Championship next year and I just don’t think that enough thought has been put into this,” he said.
