Derry Senior Camogie John O’Dwyer says it’s very difficult for the Slaughtneil girls to commit to Inter-County having been on the go non-stop for the last three years after winning a hat-trick of consecutive All-Ireland’s
Speaking to KCLR ahead of today’s All-Ireland Intermediate Championship clash against Carlow in Fenagh, John says that the club success has taken it’s toll.
He said “The problem we have because the club scene goes on so long until the start of our year, it does make it very difficult then for them to come in because by the time they get finished, because they have got to an All-Ireland every year, they need a break”.
“They are taking a break afterwards and it’s hard then to get them motivated to actually come in and play county because they are going right through until February, end of March really”.
