Mooncoin manager Joe Murphy says they deserve everything they have got.

Speaking after Sunday’s Junior Final victory over John Lockes (Callan), Joe says they are moving up again.

“One goal this year, one goal the last three years, get back to Intermediate. We have done it. Credit to all the boys.

Every single one of them. The work that has gone in this year unbelievable but they deserve everything they got.

Well, we went down, we went down, we took our medicine, we regrouped, we are back and we are moving up, moving up again”.

Mooncoin last won the junior championship in Kilkenny back in 1961 but can look forward to playing intermediate hurling next season having overcome John Lockes in convincing style, 2-19 to 1-08 the final score.

Listen back to full commentary of the game below with Brendan Hennessy and Michael Walsh calling the action for KCLR, with thanks to John Brennan Machinery Supplies, Hebron Business Park, Kilkenny.
