Kilkenny Senior Hurling Manager Brian Cody says that Dublin remain serious contenders for major honors this year despite inflicting a 12 point defeat on them in Sunday’s National League clash.

Speaking after Sunday’s game, Brian says their Leinster Championship opener in early May will be a completely different contest.

He said “Come the first round of the Championship, I think the 10th of May up in Parnell Park, neither team will be looking upon this game as having any relevance”.

“Their will be a lot of water under the bridge between now and then and everybody knows about the challenge, I know about the challenge of Dublin anywhere in any pitch in Ireland now, but i think I suppose Parnell Park seems to add even something greater to them”.
