Laois Senior Hurling Manager Eddie Brennan says he would rather have committed players at his disposal rather than talented players who won’t give the commitment.
Last year’s Joe McDonagh Cup winners lost a number of last year’s successful squad due to a variety of reasons, and speaking to KCLR ahead of Saturday night’s game against Carlow, Eddie says he learned a lot while playing under Brian Cody about the rigors and demands that are required in order to be successful.
He said “I would rather have committed guys than potentially talented guys that aren’t committed”.
“I mean some guys, county hurling is just not for them, they are just not able for the rigors of county hurling, they are not able to make those commitment for whatever reasons and whereas like from my own experiences with Brian Cody, it is the honest hardworking guys that are guys that will get you over the line when you really need it most”.
