Two goals from Eire Og midway through the second half was enough to see them over the line in the senior football league Div 1 final against Palatine yesterday evening.
Palatine led by a point 0-5 to 0-4 at the break.
Early in the last period Mark Kelly convertd a penalty and Murtagh Ware also shot a goal all in the space of four minutes and the momentum was with the town side as they ran out four point winners. Both teams gave a lot of fringe players the full game.
John Brophy presented the Blackthorn Cup to EireOg captain Mark Fitzgerald.
Meanwhile Mt. Leinster Rngs were moving nicely as they hit 22 points against Erins Own in the J.J. Kavanagh & Sons Senior Hurling Championship on a scoreline of Mt. Leinster Rngs 0-22 Erins Own 1-10.
While Naomh Brid hurlers defeated St. Mullins in the Intermediate Hurling Championship by 2-14 to 0-8.
