Eire Og Senior Football forward Simon Rea says that the club should be in more County Finals for the quality of players they have.
Speaking to KCLR ahead of Sunday’s showdown against Palatine, Simon says they shouldn’t have had to wait as long when they bridged the gap in winning last years County Final…..
“The club went through kind of a barron spell there for 5 or 6 years when we thought we might of kicked on after winning in 2012”
“But it was another five years before we got back to one and obviously won it and it’s too long for a club like Eire Og, we should be up there more often especially with the calibre of players that we have as well so last year was huge for the club in general in terms of just getting across the line and winning one and for that group of players because there is a good group of them that hadn’t experience winning one”
“I think it was 13 lads first time winning a County Final so it was massive, we are delighted to be back there again and in the final and finals are about winning”
