Kilkenny’s Ellen Molloy is top of Wexford Youths Women’s side when it comes to matters goalscoring.
The Kilkenny native hit a hat-trick against Bohemians in the league last weekend to move to pole position with 14 goals to her name this season.
Having previously lined out with Thomastown, Molloy has also been in good scoring form for the Republic of Ireland having netted in consecutive games last week for the U19s in their European Championship qualifiers against Switzerland and Northern Ireland.
Wexford are currently trail leaders Peamount by four points, the Dubliners having a game in hand.
Peamount United lead the league and goalscoring charts with Irish international Áine O’Gorman topping the scoring with 15 goals in her 2021 account. Eleanor Ryan-Doyle follows on 14 for Peamount – level with Molloy’s 14 for Wexford – while Kilkenny native Karen Duggan has also chipped in with a brace this season.
Both sides have been ruthless on the scoring front this season, Peamount in particular with 79 goals notched up their 22 games
