European Ryder Cup captain Padraig Harrington insists he has not been informed that the event is set to be postponed until 2021.

It has been reported that the September clash between Europe and the USA in Wisconsin would be moved to next year due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

It was announced that the US PGA Championship in San Francisco will be played behind closed doors in August.

World number one Rory McILroy is one of several players to say he wouldn’t want to play the Ryder Cup without fans present.

If the Ryder Cup is postponed, there is a possibilty that the Irish Open could be played in September.
