Evergreen’s Leinster Junior Cup Final against Sherrif YC has been confirmed for the June Bank Holiday weekend, Sunday June 5th, with a 2pm kick-off in the Prince Grounds, Castlecomer.

They lost out to Thomastown United after penalties on Sunday last in the KCLR McCalmont Cup Final.

Thomastown United manager Stephen Walsh says that Evergreen can bounce back from losing the final to them and go on and win the Leinster Junior Cup.

Speaking to KCLR, Stephen says that Evergreen’s consistency over a long period is to be admired……

“They were gracious in defeat, I hope they go on and win it, id love to see them win it, id love to see any Kilkenny team win it, they are a fantastic team”

“When you’re talking about consistency, they’ve been there for years, and that’s the thing about them, they do things properly, they train hard and they have a great desire to win”

“We knew going in on Sunday (KCLR McCalmont Cup Final), we had to match that to beat them, they do that year in and year out, and its credit to them”
