Kilkenny’s quest for victory in this year’s Very Ireland Camogie League continues as they face Clare at UPMC Nowlan Park this Saturday at 2 pm.

The team, under the management of Peter Chap Cleere, is eager to bounce back from last weekend’s narrow defeat to Cork in the opening round.

In a closely contested match, Cork secured a 1-17 to 1-16 win at UPMC Nowlan Park, marking Cleere’s inaugural game as Kilkenny’s manager. Despite the setback, Cleere remains focused on the championship, emphasizing the importance of taking each game as it comes.

Speaking on Full Time on Monday night, Cleere elaborated on the team’s perspective:

“So on the one hand, we’ve got a championship, that’s locked away in the corner; we know that’s coming. Everything we do is geared towards then.”

“We’ve played Cork, it was a great match. But we move on now, all we’re focused on right now is Clare, and getting a really good performance against Clare, and trying to get the result.”

“Everything we do, over the next couple of weeks, the next couple of months, everything is done with the championship in mind. So we’re taking it from game to game, but as I suppose as a manager, we’re keeping one eye on the championship, but from the player’s perspective, we’re just going game by game, and that’s all we can do.”
