Pat Hickey hopes Mount Leinster Rangers selection headache will be eased this weekend

Carlow GAA has confirmed that the Senior Hurling Championship final replay between Mount Leinster Rangers and St. Mullins will take place on Sunday at 3 pm in Netwatch Cullen Park.

The eagerly anticipated clash follows a thrilling first encounter, where neither side could be separated, setting the stage for another intense showdown this weekend.

Mount Leinster Rangers, who narrowly missed out on sealing the title in the original final, are ready to seize this second opportunity. ,Dual star Edward Byrne, affectionately known as “Feathers” due to his father’s nickname “Big Bird,” expressed the team’s excitement and determination heading into the replay. speaking at the launch of the Carlow Football Championship, expressed the team’s excitement and determination heading into the replay.

“We’re happy enough to have a second chance,” Byrne stated, reflecting on the hard-fought draw. “It felt like we left it behind us a little bit. Normally, it’s one county final a year, so to really hype up for a second county final now and go through it all again is exciting. We like to think about that positively, so we’re delighted to have another go at it, and we’re looking forward to it as well.”

Byrne’s comments capture the mood in the Mount Leinster Rangers camp, where there is a strong sense of unfinished business.
