Former Kilkenny Senior Hurling manager Kevin Fennelly has rubbished Eddie O’Connor’s recent claims that Brian Cody should step down as manager and take over from Ned Quinn as County Board Chairman.

Speaking to KCLR, Kevin says Brian Cody and Ned Quinn owe the County nothing.

“Ah look, I wouldn’t be critical of the County Board or of the management in any shape of form, we have had 18 or 19 great years.

“It’s very easy for us fellows to sit on the fence and talk that kind of rubbish like. I mean it’s like when a team gets bet, everybody going out the gate know why they got bet and selectors get blamed, but nobody knows what goes on behind closed doors.

“I let it sit for a year, let the County Board have a chat. I mean the likes of Ned Quinn and the likes of Brian Cody, they owe us nothing.

“I enjoyed the last 18 years looking at them and watching the fruits of work they did and whatever they do, they won’t do the wrong thing anyway,” he said.
