Former Kilkenny Senior Hurler and Manager Kevin Fennelly says it’s wrong for Babs Keating to suggest that Kilkenny don’t have the work-rate in their attacking division.
Speaking to KCLR ahead of Sunday’s clash in Wexford, Kevin says that Brian Cody doesn’t have the players at his disposal compared to previous teams.
He said “It’s very easy for Babs to come along and say they don’t have the fighting power that they had years ago. We won’t have the Henry Shefflin’s, the Mick Fennelly’s the Richie Power’s, the Eoin Larkin’s, Eddie Brennan’s, DJ Carey’s, you could name them forever”.
“We don’t have two forward’s at the moment that is better than any of those or that is maybe not even as good as any of those people I mentioned so how could you expect the results to be better”.
Kevin sais “We had a phenomenal team for a few years and there is no point trying to compare a team now with that because you will never see the likes of that team again, and I think the lads at the moment should get great credit for the effort they put into it and the work-rate they put into it”.
