The 2022 Gaynor Cup is in full swing with Carlow and Kilkenny both getting wins in their opening fixtures.
However, they also suffered defeats as they seek to advance to the latter stages of the competition.
Carlow have three points from their first three games.
A 0-1 defeat to Donegal was preceded by a 3-1 loss to Sligo/Leitrim as tight encounters swung in favour of the opposition.
That was not the case in their third fixture, however, as they deservedly got the better of Wexford with one goal enough to seal victory.
Elsewhere, Kilkenny have put themselves in a position to at least make the plate final.
Despite a 1-2 defeat at the hands of Mayo, a bye in the first round followed by a 3-0 win against NECSL in their second clash.
Both teams have two games remaining in the group phase before the knockout fixtures are finalised.
Group winners go into the Gaynor Cup play-offs, second-placed teams contest the plate, third-placed teams contest the bowl, with the shield up for grabs for fourth-placed teams and a trophy for fifth-placed teams.
Games are available to stream on the SFAI Facebook page.
