The fundraising efforts of local sporting organisations toward the humanitarian efforts in Ukraine know no bounds.
This Saturday (12 March) is the last run of national hunt racing at Kilkenny’s Gowran Park before the autumn on what is the annual Holden Plant Rentals Day.
Now, organisers have announced that all gate and race card sales will be donated to the Irish Red Cross Ukraine Crisis Appeal.
They’ll also be shaking buckets on the day to contribute to Saturday’s fundraising totals. If you can’t travel, you can contribute online via a GoFundMe page that’s been set up for the cause.
Tickets from €10 are on sale at GowranPark.ie.
A complimentary bus is departing the gates of Kilkenny Castle one hour before the first race and returns from Gowran Park 30 minutes after the last race.
First race on Saturday is off at 2pm with the last race of seven set for 5.25pm. Big screens will be showing Ireland’s crunch Six Nations clash against England at Twickenham, that game underway from 4.45pm.
