Gowran Park is gearing up for their fourth race meeting since restrictions were lifted on the horse racing industry on June 8th.
On Wednesday they were scheduled to have a six race card, but due to number of entries that may be bumped to an eight race card.
Course manager Eddie Scally was speaking to KCLR and gave us a taste of what to expect:
“At the moment it’s set up as a six race card but we’ve had really big entries so it will end up being an eight race card I’d imagine, so we’ll divide two races”.
“We have a race there that’s down as a 0-65 handicap so what happens is there’s maybe 100 horses entered into the race, only 14 can run so what they do is draw out the first 14 and then they get another 14 and go as well, so you can get 28 runners split over two races so I expect that to be the case that there will be an eight race card” he said.
